Anita, Robyn and Jorge have studied in the Viniyoga tradition for decades, each bringing their specific interests and strengths to their Yoga therapy practice and teaching. You will receive and experience their collective wisdom and the multiplicity of perspectives that they bring to this fascinating, timeless subject.
Anita Claney, MS, is a certified yoga therapist, KHYF and C-IAYT, working in private practice, and from 2009-2017 was the yoga therapist for the Southern Arizona VA’s Hospital Administration (SAVHCS) inpatient PTSD Unit. She was introduced to yoga over 25 years ago when she began practicing to seek relief from health conditions. In
2005, Anita travelled to India where she began studying with her current teacher Menaka Desikachar, wife of TKV Desikachar and daughter-in-law of Krishnamacharya. She also studies with Kausthub Desikachar.
Over the years, Anita has studied the foundational texts of yoga (including the Upanishads), Pranayama, Sanskrit, and Vedic chanting. In 2022 she received her Advanced Vedic Chant Teacher certificate from the KHYF, travelling to India for the two-year training. She has also completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute’s professional training program.
Anita lives in Tucson AZ with her husband. She has three grown children and is a devoted grandmother.
Robyn Love is a Yoga Therapist in private practice and the founder of Atha Yoga School.
Robyn has two decades of personal practice, fifteen years of teaching and thousands of hours of training. She is passionate about sharing the profound wisdom of Yoga, particularly as it is presented in Patanjali’s Yoga Sūtra and other foundational texts. Her teachers are Chase Bossart, Anita Claney, Dolphi Wertenbaker, Guta Hedewig, Elizabeth Cunningham Bossart and Bhooma Madavan. Robyn also is a jukai student in the Mountains and Rivers Order of Zen Buddhism. Her teacher is Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Roshi, the abbott of Zen Mountain Monastery.
Robyn lives in western Newfoundland, Canada, where she also maintains her artist studio. She has two adult children and lots and lots of yarn.
Jorge Luna was born in Mexico City and moved to Palos Verdes Penninsula, a suburb of Los Angeles, as a child. After university, he began to explore fitness and well-being, training in many modalities.
Jorge's yogic path began in 2004, at the same time that he was leaving a professional career in law. His first 200-hour yoga training was with Mia Togo and Yogaworks in 2003, Yoga Therapy LMU Yrs 1 & 2 in 2010, Healing Yoga 500 HR in 2013, C-IAYT 2016 with YATNA (Amy Wheeler, Chase Bossart & Dolphi Wertenbaker). In addition to these major trainings, he continues to study integrative healing. Jorge currently has a private practice as a Yoga Therapist and works in Management for Equinox Holdings.
Jorge is happily married, lives in Long Beach California, and has a wonderful family that includes two amazing French Bulldogs.
